Project Description
Located in the heart of Limerick City Centre the project referred to as 1BQ involved the construction of a nine-storey glass tower over two basement levels, along Limerick’s Waterfront.
The project included the sympathetic restoration of the protected ‘The Bishop’s Palace’ building on site plus the conversion of ‘The Coach House’ from commercial use to a café/restaurant while retaining the Georgian features.
The full complex is designed to meet the highest standards of energy saving to ensure a comfortable working environment whilst ensuring the latest renewable technologies are implemented.
1BQ is a transformative and sustainably focused development which is the latest building of this grade in Limerick. Carefully, designed to incorporate “LEED Gold Standard”, the building is also constructed to achieve the principles of Near Zero Emissions Buildings (NZEB).
The structure provided 110,000 sqft of office space, 34 high end, luxury apartments, a café, restaurant, and 124 parking spaces on 3 levels. Access to the building is provided via a new entrance on Lower Cecil Street.
