Project Description

Conack were tasked with the delivery of full design and build services for a new 206-bedroom hotel over seven storeys on a tight Cork City centre site bounded on all sides by busy city streets, neighbouring residential and commercial properties.

The footprint of the new hotel building covers an entire 0.5-acre site. The building structure is a 7 storey RC frame on piled concrete foundations. Building envelope comprised of a number of differing façade treatments including brickwork, precast concrete, aluminium rainscreen, aluminium windows and CW glazing.  Scope of works included full fit out of guestrooms, bars, restaurant, meeting rooms, gymnasium and all staff welfare and other support areas. The works also included the preservation and full restoration of a historic building with ornate plaster detailing which fronts onto the River Lee.
