Project Description
The upgrade at Colbert Station has significantly enhanced the transportation infrastructure surrounding the station. This major project included the construction of a new bus station on the north side of the existing train station. To further enhance accessibility, a new entrance from Roxboro Road was built specifically for bus entry, while a dedicated exit onto Parnell Street was also established.
Retail units, staff facilities, coffee shops, public restrooms and waiting areas were also constructed in the main building concourse.
On the south side of the station, a new public car park was developed to meet the parking needs of both passengers and station staff. Additionally, new staff parking facilities were introduced on both the north and south sides of the station, providing ample and convenient parking options for employees. The existing surface-level car park on Parnell Street was reconfigured into a designated set-down area for passengers and taxis, which improves overall accessibility and convenience for those arriving at or departing from the station. To facilitate passengers, public and staff all works were phased to allow the project to continue during peak hours.
